B160 Danaher
Wake Industrial LLC is not an authorized distributor of this product.
The Danaher B160 is part of the Quadraline Regenerative Drives series and supports single phase AC input voltage of 115 or 230 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, with a NEMA 4/12 enclosure rating. It features adjustable current settings up to 10 amps DC, a 30:1 armature speed range, and a speed regulation of ±2%. The drive is designed for vertical mounting and allows for max load capacity of 150% for 1 minute at 3300 feet maximum altitude.
Internal Product Review
The B160 is a Danaher Quadraline regenerative drive designed for single-phase operation with 115/230 VAC input. Continuous duty and default speed control give the unit stable, predictable motor handling in demanding DC drive applications. NEMA 4/12 enclosure protection is a strong advantage for industrial installations.

Product Description:
The B160 regenerative drive is manufactured by Danaher as part of the Quadraline Regenerative Drives series. The unit is a DC motor controller that returns excess kinetic energy to the supply when a motor decelerates, so it supports energy-conscious positioning, conveying, and test stands within industrial automation. By combining armature regulation with selectable 50/100 VDC or 100/200 VDC field voltages, it can excite shunt fields connected to 115 V or 230 V mains. This drive suits installations that prefer a packaged regeneration solution rather than discrete hardware.
Input power is flexible: the controller accepts 115/230 VAC and operates on a single-phase line. A frequency window of 50/60 Hz with a tolerance of ±2 Hz keeps the bridge synchronized with common utility grids. Four field-selectable current limits of 2.5/5/7.5/10 A DC match the armature ratings of small to medium-frame motors, while an internal 20 A semiconductor fuse protects the rectifier against short circuits. Separate field taps supply either 50/100 VDC from a 115 V source or 100/200 VDC from a 230 V source, allowing proper magnetization without an external transformer. The drive supports continuous-duty service when the heat sink is mounted vertically to provide upward airflow.
The default operating mode is speed control, implemented with a 2 kΩ reference potentiometer that provides a 30:1 armature speed range. Closed-loop response keeps steady-state velocity within ±2% of the set value despite line or load changes. For transient demands, the drivetrain can absorb or regenerate up to 150% for 1 minute before timers impose current foldback. A gasketed NEMA 4/12 enclosure permits installation in areas exposed to washdown or dust and supports operation at altitudes up to 3,300 feet (1,000 meters) without derating. The drive must remain vertical during operation to maintain the required convection paths, and its continuous-duty ratings apply across the stated operating limits.
