Product Description:
The HS35R2400D30H04 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. In motion-control platforms, the unit mounts on motor or gearbox shafts and converts mechanical rotation into digital square-wave signals that drives, PLCs, or counters use for speed and position feedback. Its electrical and mechanical ratings allow installation in conveyors, fabrication equipment, and packaging lines where reliable real-time shaft monitoring is required. The heavy-duty enclosure and bearing system are suitable for industrial environments subject to vibration, moisture, and airborne particles.
For fine control, the encoder delivers 2400 PPR, so the controller can scale the pulses produced during each revolution to determine angular distance. Digital fidelity is aided by a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, and the outputs switch in less than 1 µs. Devices may power the sensor from supplies as high as 26 VDC or as low as 4.5 VDC; within that range, current draw stays below 100 mA. The quadrature channels are phased 90° ±22.5°, and channel symmetry of 180° ±18° keeps the duty cycle balanced for accurate direction decoding. The housing carries a NEMA 4/IP66 rating that seals the internal optics against dust and high-pressure washdown.
The code wheel operates without errors at speeds up to 3600 rpm, and starting torque is limited to a maximum of 5.0 oz-in, so servo windup is negligible during startup. The stainless steel shaft clamp tolerates axial loads up to 30 lb and radial loads up to 40 lb, protecting the bearings when couplings are misaligned. Initial drag remains low even under those forces, preserving accuracy across the maximum unit weight of 16 oz. The compact body makes the encoder easier to install in tight spaces. Its hollow-shaft design permits direct mounting around a compatible rotating shaft without requiring a separate shaft coupling.
