Product Description:
The HS35R2048H37E encoder is manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. It is an incremental rotary device that converts shaft rotation into square-wave electrical signals, providing real-time feedback for motion controllers in automated lines. By supplying two-channel quadrature outputs, the unit allows drives to calculate speed, direction, and incremental position without additional gearing. Its compact design mounts directly on motor or conveyor shafts, supporting closed-loop regulation, phase matching, and synchronized production sequences.
Inside the housing, optical tracks deliver a resolution of 2048 PPR, so each full revolution generates that many pulses and refines velocity calculations to fractions of a degree. The sensing electronics support a minimum count-rate capacity of 100 kHz, which keeps the pulse train valid when the shaft spins at up to 3600 rpm. A NEMA 4 / IP66 enclosure seals the internal components against dust and directed water. The bore has a tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 in, maintaining concentricity between the encoder hub and the driven shaft. Starting torque remains below 5.0 oz-in, while running torque stays below 4.5 oz-in, minimizing drag on small servo motors. Quadrature phasing of 90° ±22.5° electrical and symmetry of 180° ±18° electrical support correct edge decoding by limiting duty-cycle error. The axial coupling can withstand up to 30 lb of end thrust before bearing life is affected.
The bearing set tolerates a radial shaft load of 40 lb, allowing it to accommodate belt tension or minor misalignment without encoder failure. During installation or service impacts, the assembly withstands shocks of 50 G for 11 ms. It also operates under continuous factory-floor vibration from 5 to 2000 Hz at 20 G without disturbance to the code wheel. The encoder weighs only 16 oz, which reduces the load placed on lightweight motor frames and mounting hardware.
