Product Description:
The HS35R1024HXRD33 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed for mounting on motor or machine shafts, it converts mechanical rotation into electrical pulses used by speed control loops, positioning tables, and count-based automation systems. The through-shaft construction permits clamp-style installation without couplings, and its electrical output readily interfaces with PLC high-speed counters and variable-frequency drives.
The encoder accepts a shaft diameter of 1-1/8 in, and the hollow opening is finish-machined to a bore tolerance of +0.0003 to +0.0005 inch so that it grips standard motor shafts without excessive clearance. Internal LED and photodiode tracks generate a digital output of 1024 PPR, while the output stages handle frequencies up to 100 kHz for accurate feedback at high rotational speeds. The rotor requires no more than 5.0 oz-in of starting torque to begin moving, after which running torque falls below 4.5 oz-in to minimize the load on the drive. A weather-tight housing rated NEMA 4/IP66 blocks dust and directed water, while the flexible tether accommodates axial endplay of ±0.050 inch and radial runout of ±0.025 inch. The aluminum code wheel contributes only 25.6 × 10⁻⁴ oz-in-sec² of inertia, helping the encoder respond quickly during acceleration and deceleration.
The encoder can operate at a maximum rotational speed of 3600 rpm without losing signal integrity, and it tolerates shocks of up to 50 G for 11 ms during sudden stops on heavy equipment. Its bearing and tether geometry permit continuous load capacities of 40 lb radial and 30 lb axial, protecting the internal optics from misalignment caused by belt tension or gear overhang. Despite these load capacities, the encoder has a maximum mass of 16 oz, allowing it to mount on small motors without significantly affecting balance or bearing life.
