Product Description:
The HS35R1024H5P7 is a hollow-shaft incremental rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. Mounted over a motor stub shaft and secured with a flexible tether, it converts mechanical rotation into two square-wave channels plus an index pulse for motion control systems. The device serves industrial automation applications by supplying precise shaft position and speed data to variable-frequency drives, PLCs, and servo amplifiers so they can maintain commanded trajectories and detect faults.
The resolution is 1024 PPR, meaning each revolution produces 1,024 evenly spaced pulses that a controller can count for precise positioning. Electrical fidelity is maintained with a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz, allowing reliable edge detection even when the shaft reaches the mechanical limit of 3600 rpm. The output driver draws no more than 100 mA from the supply, reducing the load on control power rails. Signal integrity is aided by a rise and fall time of less than 1 µs, keeping edges sharp for high-speed counters. Quadrature phasing is specified at 90° ± 22.5° electrical, while channel symmetry remains within 180° ± 18° to support accurate count sequences. Starting torque does not exceed 5.0 oz-in, and running torque is limited to 4.5 oz-in, so the encoder imposes minimal drag on the host shaft.
The aluminum housing withstands washdown conditions and dust ingress with a NEMA 4/IP66 rating. Sealed bearings allow the encoder to withstand a continuous axial load of 30 lb and a radial load of 40 lb without premature wear. The maximum mass is 16 oz, which helps prevent excessive stress on small servo flanges. A shaft bore tolerance of +0.0003 to +0.0005 in provides a slip fit that centers the code wheel while helping to prevent fretting. Controlled bearing preload supports direct installation on pumps, presses, and winders that operate in wet or dusty environments.
