Internal Product Review
The HS35R1024H4P9 is a Danaher Dynapar encoder with 1024 PPR resolution and a NEMA4/IP66 enclosure. A 100 kHz minimum frequency response and less than 1 µs rise/fall time support clean, responsive feedback in motion control service. The combination of precise signal performance and strong environmental protection makes the encoder a highly capable choice for demanding machinery.

Product Description:
The HS35R1024H4P9 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. Mounted on a drive or motor shaft, it converts mechanical rotation into two square-wave channels that allow controllers to monitor position, direction, and velocity in real time. The encoder is suited for industrial automation tasks such as web handling, conveying, and machine-tool spindle control.
The encoder provides a resolution of 1024 PPR, so one turn is divided into 1,024 pulses for mid-range speed control. Its hollow shaft can rotate at up to 3600 rpm, and the internal optics support count rates with a frequency response of at least 100 kHz. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4/IP66 to block dust and directed water. The shaft withstands an axial thrust load of 30 lb. Starting torque remains below 5.0 oz-in, while running torque remains below 4.5 oz-in to minimize motor drag. The output channels maintain quadrature phasing of 90° ± 22.5° and symmetry of 180° ± 18° for accurate A/B decoding. The assembly weighs no more than 16 oz, which reduces the load placed on small motors during installation and operation.
The bearing system tolerates a radial load of 40 lb, allowing direct mounting without external shaft supports. The driver electronics produce rise and fall times of less than 1 µs, keeping pulse distortion low over long cable runs. Shock resistance reaches 50 G for 11 ms, permitting operation in machinery exposed to sudden mechanical impacts. The encoder also withstands vibration of 20 G at 5–2000 Hz, making it suitable for stamping presses, mobile machinery, and other equipment with high dynamic forces. These durability characteristics support reliable pulse transmission during rapid start-and-stop cycles. They also help protect the optical and electronic components when the attached machine experiences recurring movement, impact, or vibration.
