Product Description:
The HS35R1024H372 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder built by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. The unit mounts on a motor or machine shaft and converts mechanical rotation into electrical pulse streams that a drive or PLC counts to calculate position and speed. Its design allows automation systems to close velocity or tension loops without direct-contact gears because the internal optical code disk tracks the shaft angle through evenly distributed slots. The encoder serves as a feedback element in conveyors, winders, and general motion axes.
Electrically, the sensor provides a resolution of 1024 PPR, meaning each revolution produces 1,024 pulses for fine incremental indexing. High-speed detection is supported by a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, so the pulse train remains accurate throughout the encoder’s rated speed range. The input stage accepts a supply range of 4.5 VDC to 26 VDC and draws no more than 100 mA, allowing direct connection to standard 5 V or 24 V encoder ports. Output edges have a rise or fall time below 1 µs, reducing timing uncertainty in high-bandwidth servo loops. The 5.0 oz-in starting torque minimizes drag on lightly powered spindles.
Bearing life is specified at 80,000 hours at 3,600 rpm, supporting prolonged operation in industrial machinery. The housing meets NEMA 4/IP66 sealing requirements, protecting the optical components from dust and washdown spray. Shock tolerance reaches 50 G for 11 ms, allowing the encoder to withstand the mechanical forces encountered on stamping presses or mobile equipment. The aluminum body weighs only 16 oz, which reduces the load added to small motors and simplifies handling during installation. The hollow bore is machined to a tolerance of +0.0003 to +0.0005 inches. The encoder can withstand 30 lb of axial shaft load and 40 lb of radial shaft load without losing accuracy.
