Product Description:
The HS35R1024H147PS is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder produced by Danaher in the Dynapar Encoders series. Installed directly on motor or process shafts, the unit converts mechanical rotation into digital quadrature signals that a drive or PLC can count, supplying real-time position and speed data for closed-loop automation. It fits over medium-diameter shafts through its internal bore and uses differential line-driver outputs to maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. These capabilities support motion monitoring in packaging lines, conveyors, and web-handling machinery.
Mechanical coupling is achieved with a 1-1/8 in hollow bore that slips over a driven shaft and clamps against a 5.875-inch mounting bolt circle to align the code disk. The enclosure has a NEMA 4 / IP66 rating, preventing pressurized washdowns and airborne particles from penetrating the housing. Signal fidelity is maintained by a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz, allowing precise pulse counting when the shaft undergoes rapid acceleration. The internal electronics accept an input supply of 5-26 VDC, while the optical sensor provides a resolution of 1024 PPR. It generates two offset channels, complementary signals, and an index pulse for downstream motion controllers. An onboard LED provides visual status during installation, and the 10-pin MS connector includes a premated plug that simplifies field wiring while maintaining shield continuity.
The rotating elements support continuous operation at speeds up to 3600 RPM. Starting friction is limited to 5.0 oz-in, minimizing the mechanical load placed on smaller servo motors during startup. Reliable operation is maintained across a temperature range of -40 to +70 °C, allowing installation in freezers or heated enclosures without derating. Differential signaling is supplied by the 7272 line driver, which provides complementary output pairs for improved noise rejection over industrial cable runs. The non-buffered quadrature output includes A and B channels with their complements, along with an index channel and its complement. Total mass remains below 16 oz, reducing the added load on the supporting shaft and mounting structure.
