Product Description:
The HS35R1024F577 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder produced by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. It mounts directly on a motor or machine shaft and converts mechanical rotation into electrical pulse trains that a PLC or drive counts for speed or position feedback. By supplying real-time incremental data, the device supports closed-loop control in conveyors, web-handling lines, and other automation tasks that rely on synchronized motion.
This model delivers a resolution of 1024 PPR, so one full revolution produces 1,024 equally spaced pulses for precise velocity monitoring. The maximum mechanical speed is 3600 rpm, and operation above this limit could damage the internal disk. The electrical section has a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz, allowing accurate feedback at high shaft speeds. The housing has a dual rating of NEMA 4 / IP66, sealing the optics against dust and directed water during washdown processes. Shaft engagement uses a bore tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 in, and the mating shaft must remain within ±0.050 in of endplay and ±0.025 in of runout to maintain alignment. Starting torque is limited to 5.0 oz-in, minimizing the initial load imposed on the host motor. The symmetrical output remains within 180° ±18° electrical, while the quadrature channels remain 90° ±22.5° electrical apart for reliable direction sensing.
The encoder can withstand an axial load of up to 30 lb and a radial load of up to 40 lb without reducing bearing life, making it suitable for belt-driven installations. Internal friction is low, with a maximum running torque of 4.5 oz-in, so bearing temperature rise remains minimal during operation. Signal integrity is supported by a rise and fall time of <1 µs, which keeps square-wave edges sharp for high-frequency counters. The unit weighs no more than 16 oz, allowing direct mounting without additional support hardware. Its hollow-shaft arrangement also eliminates the need for a separate shaft coupling, reducing the number of mechanical interfaces between the encoder and the monitored equipment.
