Product Description:
Danaher produces the HS35R1024A372 hollow-shaft incremental encoder as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. The unit mounts directly on a motor or machine shaft without requiring a separate coupling. It converts mechanical rotation into square-wave digital pulses, allowing drives, PLCs, or supervisory controllers to monitor speed, direction, and incremental position in automated equipment such as conveyors, winders, and test stands.
Each revolution is subdivided into 1024 PPR, so control hardware can track angular changes of less than 0.4°. The two output channels have quadrature phasing of 90° ±22.5° electrical and a symmetry window of 180° ±18° electrical to support bidirectional counting. High-speed applications are supported by a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz and rise and fall times of <1 µs, allowing output transitions to reach their logic thresholds quickly. The encoder operates at a maximum shaft speed of 3600 RPM while limiting starting friction to 5.0 oz-in. It supports continuous shaft loads of 40 lb in the radial direction and 30 lb in the axial direction. The electronics draw a maximum of 100 mA from the excitation rail, keeping power dissipation low in sealed cabinets.
The hollow bore is precision machined with a tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 in to ensure concentric coupling. The enclosure carries NEMA 4 and IP66 ratings, preventing contaminants from reaching the optical disc. The bearings provide a rated service life of 80,000 hours at 3600 RPM, which aligns planned maintenance with typical motor overhaul intervals. The assembly withstands impacts of up to 50 G for 11 ms and continuous vibration of up to 20 G, allowing installation on gearboxes or press frames. Its maximum permitted weight is 16 oz. The combination of low mass and limited starting torque reduces resistance in the drive train when the connected equipment starts or stops.
