Product Description:
The HS35R102483C6PS is an incremental hollow-shaft rotary encoder built by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. The unit slips over a shaft through its 5/8 in bore and translates angular motion into electrical pulses that allow drive controllers to monitor position, velocity, and direction in industrial automation systems. Its compact housing and square-wave output support feedback applications on conveyors, winders, and material-handling axes that require dependable digital signaling.
The incremental sensing system produces quadrature pulse trains, and the internal code disk provides 1024 PPR for moderate positional resolution with PLC high-speed counters. Signal lines can switch at frequencies of 100 kHz or higher, allowing the encoder to track rapid axis changes without missed counts. The maximum operating speed is 3600 rpm; operation beyond this limit may reduce pulse integrity. The output stages generate balanced square waves with rise and fall times of less than 1 µs, minimizing timing errors over long cable runs. The aluminum housing carries a protection rating of NEMA 4/IP66, helping prevent the entry of dust, oil, and washdown fluids. Starting torque is limited to 5.0 oz-in, which reduces the breakaway load placed on small servo motors.
During operation, the hollow hub can tolerate a maximum axial force of 30 lb and a maximum radial force of 40 lb, permitting direct installation on lead screws or pulley shafts without auxiliary bearings. Steady-state drag has a maximum value of 4.5 oz-in, reducing heat buildup during continuous operation. The sensing module withstands shocks of 50 G for 11 ms, so disturbances caused by indexing stops or tool impacts are less likely to shift the code disk. The unshielded unit weighs 16 oz, allowing installation on compact mounting brackets without adding substantial mass. Its native square-wave output connects easily to differential line receivers used in industrial motion-control equipment.
