Product Description:
The HS35R1024839401 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. It converts mechanical rotation into square-wave electrical pulses so that drives, PLCs, and motion controllers can monitor shaft position and velocity in real time. A through-bore design lets the unit slide directly over a motor or blower shaft, eliminating couplings and simplifying installation in conveyor drives, packaging lines, and other automated equipment that requires consistent speed feedback.
Performance is set by a code wheel that yields 1024 PPR, supplying moderate resolution without overwhelming high-speed counters. The stainless-steel hub accepts a 5/8 in. shaft and is secured by a split-clamp collar to keep eccentricity low. The electronics operate from 4.5 to 26 VDC and draw no more than 100 mA, allowing the encoder to share the same low-voltage rail as other sensors. Internal bearings can track speeds up to 3600 rpm. Starting torque is limited to 5.0 oz-in and falls to 4.5 oz-in once rotation is established, minimizing drag on fractional-horsepower motors. Independent A and B channels leave the disc with quadrature phasing of 90° ± 22.5° electrical, so position data remains unambiguous across the full logic voltage range.
The fan-cover mounting style allows the body to be bolted to a motor shroud, while the encoder withstands an axial load of 30 lb and a radial load of 40 lb without reducing bearing life. Its aluminum housing and seal set achieve a NEMA 4 / IP66 rating, protecting the optical channel against dust ingress and water jets. A minimum frequency response of 100 kHz preserves pulse integrity even when toothed belts or gearboxes multiply the input speed. The assembly weighs 16 oz, so it adds little mass to fan covers or end bells. Its sealed housing also supports installation near machinery where airborne particles or sprayed water could otherwise interfere with optical sensing. The split-clamp arrangement keeps the hub secure during rotation without requiring an external shaft coupling.
