Product Description:
The HS35R10248372 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. In motion-control assemblies, it mounts directly on a motor or machine shaft and converts rotation into square-wave feedback signals that a drive or PLC counts to determine position and speed. This real-time data allows closed-loop regulation of conveyors, winders, and similar equipment without mechanical gearing or additional sensors.
The device provides a resolution of 1024 PPR, so one mechanical revolution yields 1024 evenly spaced pulses that enable precise velocity measurement and indexing. Its hollow bore measures 5/8 in, allowing slip-fit installation on common shaft diameters while a split-clamp collar secures the hub. The housing carries a NEMA 4/IP66 rating, which seals the internal optics against dust and powerful water jets often encountered on factory floors. The maximum operating speed reaches 3600 rpm; above this limit, the disc can experience excessive centrifugal stress. A shock rating of 50 G for 11 ms protects the code wheel from impacts during installation or operation. Starting torque is limited to 5.0 oz-in, and running torque is limited to 4.5 oz-in, reducing drag on small servo motors. The moment of inertia is 7.9 × 10-4 oz-in-s², so acceleration demands on the host motor remain minimal. Quadrature phasing is maintained within 90° ± 22.5° electrical, and channel symmetry remains within 180° ± 18° electrical, ensuring accurate directional decoding by standard differential receivers.
A minimum frequency response of 100 kHz allows the internal electronics to process the high edge rates generated at upper shaft speeds without pulse loss. The encoder endures axial loads up to 30 lb and radial loads up to 40 lb, supporting belt tension or coupling misalignment without bearing failure. The input electronics draw only 100 mA at the rated supply voltage, reducing the power required in multi-axis systems. These load and current values assist with drive compatibility, power distribution, and installation planning.
