Product Description:
The HS35R1024732D is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed for industrial automation, the device attaches directly to rotating equipment and produces differential A/B/Z channels for closed-loop speed regulation and position tracking by drives or PLCs. Its slide-on hub and tether arm simplify mounting, while the hollow design supports installation on through shafts where conventional shafted encoders are impractical. This arrangement can minimize equipment downtime during retrofits.
The encoder delivers a resolution of 1024 PPR, letting control logic detect angular steps of 0.351° per pulse. An optoelectronic sensor chain maintains pulse fidelity at shaft speeds up to 3600 rpm and provides an electrical frequency response of 100 kHz, covering most medium-power motor applications. Sealing rated at IP66 protects the code disk and electronics against coolant splashes, airborne particulates, and washdown cleaning. The stainless steel hub tolerates an axial shaft load of 30 lb, allowing the unit to be coupled to fan or pump motors without additional thrust bearings. Internal heat paths help keep the photodiodes within safe operating limits.
The radial bearing design permits side loading of up to 40 lb, while the allowable shaft end play is ±0.050 in. This tolerance lets couplings accommodate thermal growth without distorting the air gap. The encoder draws a maximum of 100 mA from the 5 V supply, simplifying power bus sizing in multi-axis panels. Startup drag is limited to 5.0 oz-in, and running torque settles at 4.5 oz-in, reducing motor loading during steady operation. The hollow hub accepts mating shafts ranging from 1.25 in to 2.0 in. Radial runout must remain within ±0.025 in to preserve signal amplitude. The overall weight remains below 16 oz, so lightweight brackets or cable supports are adequate for most mounting orientations.
