Product Description:
The HS35R10008357 is a rotary feedback device manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. Installed on the driven shaft of a motor, conveyor, or winder, it converts rotary motion into electrical signals so a PLC or drive can monitor speed, direction, or accumulated position. The hollow-shaft design fits shafts that remain within ±0.025 inch of runout and ±0.050 inch of endplay. This arrangement allows quick clamping without couplings while maintaining the alignment needed for repeatable pulse generation in industrial automation.
The housing has NEMA 4 / IP66 ingress protection against dust and high-pressure water, while its tolerance of up to 98% relative humidity supports operation in humid processing areas. The sensing electronics provide a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, supporting high-resolution counting when the application operates near the maximum speed of 3600 rpm. The control electronics draw no more than 100 mA, allowing the encoder to receive power from a compatible I/O card without exceeding typical 5 or 24 VDC power limits. Internal bearings hold the rotor with a running torque not exceeding 4.5 oz-in. This low running torque reduces drive power losses and limits the additional load placed on small fractional-horsepower motors.
The unit accepts a continuous axial shaft load of 30 lb and a continuous radial shaft load of 40 lb. These load capacities accommodate forces such as belt tension and gear-mesh loads that are commonly present at drive ends. The encoder withstands shocks of up to 50 G for 11 ms, protecting the code disc from impacts during installation or sudden machine stops. Its mass is limited to 16 oz, so it adds little inertia and can be mounted directly on gearboxes without auxiliary support. Starting torque remains below 5.0 oz-in, providing predictable breakaway behavior when machinery accelerates from a stopped position.
