The HS35R1000830J is a hollow-shaft feedback device produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. As an incremental rotary encoder, it mounts directly over a 5/8-inch motor shaft and generates quadrature pulses that a drive or PLC converts into velocity and position data. In industrial automation, this feedback signal closes the control loop for conveyor lines, printing machines, and general motion stages, allowing the controller to synchronize speed and detect slippage without additional gearing. The compact assembly supports feedback applications on both servo and induction motor platforms.
The sensor accepts logic power between 4.5 VDC and 26 VDC, drawing no more than 100 mA, so it can be powered directly from standard 5 V or 24 V control rails. An internal LED and phased detector provide a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, supporting high-speed counting at the encoder resolution of 1000 PPR. Signal fidelity is protected by a housing rated at NEMA 4 and IP66, which blocks dust and hose-directed water. The hollow bore clamps directly to the drive shaft, eliminating the need for additional gearing or an external coupling. Differential outputs exit through an 8-pin M12 connector for connection to the drive or control system. Startup friction is limited to 5.0 oz-in, minimizing the additional load placed on small motors.
The encoder tolerates axial thrust of up to 30 lb and a radial side load of up to 40 lb on the hollow shaft, helping prevent premature bearing wear when belts or couplings apply mixed forces. The rotating elements remain stable at speeds up to 3600 rpm, while the sensing assembly withstands shocks of 50 G without losing index accuracy. Its aluminum body and stainless steel fasteners provide a durable structure for prolonged use in industrial plants. The complete assembly weighs 16 oz, which limits added mass in compact motor installations and helps positioning servos maintain dynamic response during rapid reversals.
