Product Description:
The HS35R0360J101 is a rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. It mounts to a rotating shaft and converts each mechanical revolution into a sequence of electrical pulses. Within an automation cell, those pulses feed drives or PLC counters so that motor speed, web tension, or table positioning can be monitored and corrected in real time, even when the encoder is installed in washdown or dusty locations. This feedback allows connected control equipment to detect changes in shaft motion and respond while the machinery is operating.
A resolution of 360 PPR divides one turn into equal one-degree increments, enabling moderate angular precision without oversizing the data path. The sensor chain tracks pulse rates up to 100 kHz, so measurement linearity is preserved at high rotational velocities. The code wheel tolerates sustained operation at 3600 RPM, and the housing carries a NEMA 4 / IP66 rating for protection against airborne particles and pressurized water. The electronics accept 4.5 to 26 VDC and consume a maximum of 100 mA, permitting direct connection to common 5 V or 24 V control rails. Initial breakaway torque is limited to 5.0 oz-in, while running torque remains below 4.5 oz-in, reducing drag on small servo shafts.
The bearing system accommodates an axial load of 30 lb and a radial load of 40 lb, so belt tension or coupling misalignment is less likely to distort the encoder disc. Internal assemblies withstand shocks of 50 G for 11 ms, helping preserve index integrity after impacts or accidental drops. The encoder has a maximum weight of 16 oz, which limits the additional load placed on lightly loaded spindles. Its low running torque also reduces mechanical resistance during shaft rotation. These characteristics make the encoder suitable for feedback tasks in packaging, printing, and light material-handling equipment where exposure to dust, moisture, vibration, and repetitive motion may occur.
