Product Description:
The HS35R0360800D is an incremental hollow-shaft encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It attaches directly to a motor or gearbox shaft and converts rotary motion into electrical pulses for speed or position monitoring in industrial automation systems. Connected control equipment can count these pulses to track movement and calculate rotational velocity. The hollow-shaft design also allows the encoder to follow the rotation of the supported shaft without requiring a separate shaft extension.
Mechanical protection is provided by a NEMA 4 / IP66 housing that excludes dust and resists water jets, allowing installation on outdoor conveyors or washdown equipment. The encoder supports a maximum shaft speed of 3600 rpm for use on rapidly rotating industrial machinery. It withstands a radial shaft load of 40 lb and an axial shaft load of 30 lb, supporting belt tension and end thrust without premature bearing wear. A shaft bore tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 inches provides a slip fit on compatible motor shafts. Starting torque remains below 5.0 oz-in, which minimizes mechanical drag when the encoder is installed on a small servo motor. These load and torque characteristics allow the encoder to monitor motion without placing excessive resistance on the connected shaft.
Signal generation remains accurate up to a frequency response of 100 kHz, allowing high-speed pulse counting throughout the supported operating range. The encoder has a maximum current draw of 100 mA, permitting connection to compatible control inputs without placing excessive demand on the power supply. Each square-wave signal rises or falls in <1 µs, helping connected controllers detect transitions with limited timing uncertainty. The AB quadrature outputs have a phase separation of 90° ±22.5°, allowing downstream counters to determine rotational direction. Signal symmetry is maintained at 180° ±18°, supporting consistent duty-cycle measurements and reliable pulse detection. The encoder weighs 16 oz, which limits the additional mass placed on the supported machine assembly.
