Product Description:
The HS35R03608005 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. It attaches directly to a machine shaft to translate rotary motion into electrical pulse trains, supplying precise speed and position data to variable-frequency drives, PLC counters, and other automation controllers. By converting mechanical rotation into quadrature signals, the unit allows closed-loop regulation of conveyors, web lines, and servo axes without adding substantial inertia or requiring couplings.
The encoder accepts a shaft through a 5/8 in bore and tolerates continuous rotation up to 3600 rpm, so it fits standard motor stub shafts in medium-speed equipment. A maximum running torque of 4.5 oz-in keeps drivetrain drag low, while an axial load capacity of 30 lb protects the internal bearings when the encoder is mounted against thrust forces. The aluminum housing is sealed to NEMA 4/IP66, blocking dust ingress and high-pressure water spray in washdown zones. When starting from rest, the assembly requires no more than 5.0 oz-in of breakaway torque, limiting startup load in installations that do not use couplings.
A radial load limit of 40 lb protects the encoder from belt tension or misalignment stresses. The optical code disk provides 360 PPR, giving one degree of mechanical resolution per pulse for straightforward scaling in drive software. The signal channels support a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, enabling reliable feedback at the device’s maximum speed. Rotor inertia is only 7.9 × 10⁻⁴ oz-in-s², so the encoder adds negligible load during acceleration. Output phasing is held at 90° ± 22.5° electrical, and duty symmetry stays within 180° ± 18°, ensuring predictable quadrature decoding. Rise and fall times remain under 1 µs, preserving edge clarity over long cable runs. The fully assembled unit weighs 16 oz, which supports direct mounting on small motors or gearboxes.
