Product Description:
The HS35R02406300 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It installs directly on a rotating shaft. The encoder converts mechanical motion into electrical pulse trains that automation controllers use for speed regulation, position verification, and synchronous triggering.
A bore size of 12 mm with a tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 in provides a snug fit on standard metric shafts while permitting installation and removal. The optical disk provides 240 PPR, so each mechanical revolution yields 240 incremental counts that drives or counters translate into angular displacement or velocity. Internal electronics respond to signal edges at 100 kHz or higher, allowing the encoder to follow rapid motion without pulse loss. The device operates from a 4.5–26 VDC power supply and draws no more than 100 mA, so it can share power rails with typical TTL or HTL input cards. Output timing remains within 90° ±22.5° quadrature phasing and 180° ±18° symmetry limits for consistent channel separation. Starting torque does not exceed 5.0 oz-in, running torque stays below 4.5 oz-in, and moment of inertia is 7.9 × 10⁻⁴ oz-in-sec², keeping mechanical loading minimal.
The die-cast housing carries a NEMA 4/IP66 enclosure rating, blocking dust ingress and high-pressure water jets so the encoder may operate outside control cabinets. A maximum shaft speed of 3600 rpm aligns with common motor outputs, and the bearings accept a radial load of 40 lb and an axial load of 30 lb without premature wear. Low drag is preserved at peak speed because the seals keep contaminants away from the bearing grease. Total mass remains under 16 oz, helping prevent disruption of the dynamic balance on compact drives while providing enough mass to damp vibration. The encoder can operate at temperatures from 0 °C to 70 °C and can be stored at temperatures from -25 °C to 90 °C. Its shock resistance is 50 G for 11 milliseconds, while its vibration resistance is 5 G across a frequency range of 5 Hz to 2,000 Hz.
