Product Description:
The HS35R010093A5 is a hollow-shaft rotary encoder produced by Danaher and supplied under the Dynapar Encoders series. As an incremental feedback device, it converts mechanical rotation into electrical pulse trains that variable-speed drives, PLCs, or safety monitors use for real-time speed and position supervision in automated equipment. The unit slips over the driven shaft and is retained by a flexible tether, removing the need for couplings while delivering precise motion data for conveyors, winders, and packaging machinery.
It has a 15 mm hollow bore that fits standard IEC motor shafts. The optical disc generates 100 PPR, providing one hundred pulses per revolution on each primary output channel. A differential 5 V line driver (7272) feeds both channels, and the output stage has a 40 mA sink/source capacity, supporting long cable runs without signal loss. A response frequency of up to 100 kHz lets the encoder accurately track shaft speeds up to a maximum of 3600 rpm. Starting torque remains below 5.0 oz-in. Channel A leads channel B during clockwise rotation, making the count direction immediately usable by motion controllers.
A sealed housing rated NEMA 4/IP66 prevents dust ingress and resists directed water jets in washdown areas. Internal components withstand continuous ambient temperatures up to 100 °C, while the sensing assembly tolerates shocks of 50 G for 11 ms and vibration levels of 20 G across industrial frequency ranges. The fan-cover motor mounting arrangement aligns the tether with the torque arm on standard totally enclosed fan-cooled motors. Installation uses an MS3106A-14S-6S mating plug with the supplied 6-pin connector set, keeping field wiring consistent with common encoder retrofit practices. Because the channel phasing is preset, no additional calibration is required after the termination hardware is secured and enclosure ground continuity is verified.
