Product Description:
The HS35120083110 is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder produced by Danaher under the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed to mount on the fan cover of an AC induction motor, it converts shaft rotation into a train of electrical pulses that a drive or PLC uses for speed regulation, positioning, and feedback-based diagnostics in automated machinery. The unit features an open-collector bidirectional AB output, allowing the controller to sense both direction and displacement while sharing a common ground reference with the system power supply.
Electrical performance centers on a programmable disc that delivers 1200 PPR, giving controllers a resolution of 0.3 degrees per count. The encoder supports a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz, so high update rates remain available at elevated motor speeds. The electronics accept a supply voltage of 5 to 26 VDC, allowing the encoder to operate directly from common logic and industrial control power supplies without additional regulators. When the host machine reaches 3600 RPM, the optical sensor preserves consistent edge spacing through matched phototransistor response. An internal pull-up network includes a 2.2 kΩ resistor that shapes signal rise times on the AB channels.
The encoder supports a maximum axial load of 30 lb and a maximum radial load of 40 lb, protecting the internal bearings when the unit is clamped to a fan-cover stub shaft through its 5/8-inch bore. An IP66 housing prevents dust and powerful water jets from affecting the code wheel or electronics. The fan-cover motor mount uses the motor’s existing hardware, reducing the amount of additional mounting equipment required. A 6-pin connector provides a detachable electrical connection for power and output signals. The encoder draws no more than 100 mA during operation, limiting the load placed on the regulated power supply.
