Product Description:
The HS3510248X44X23 is an incremental rotary encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. In motion-control systems, the device converts shaft rotation into electrical pulses. Drives, PLCs, and positioning controllers use these pulses to receive real-time speed and direction feedback for closed-loop automation.
The hollow shaft accepts a 5/8-inch bore with a tolerance of +0.0003/+0.0005 inches, ensuring a proper grip without introducing bearing preload. The code disk delivers a resolution of 1024 PPR, providing moderate position granularity for mid-range servo axes. The output circuitry tracks edge transitions up to 100 kHz, allowing the full pulse count to be processed at elevated mechanical speeds. Electrical quadrature signals maintain a phase difference of 90° ±22.5°, while channel symmetry remains within 180° ±18° to support accurate duty cycles for counters. The unit remains functional at speeds up to 3600 rpm. Its seal set is rated NEMA 4/IP66, protecting the optical components from dust and washdown fluids. Running torque is limited to 4.5 oz-in and remains below the starting torque of 5.0 oz-in, minimizing the load placed on the drive end.
The encoder carries up to 30 lb of axial force and can withstand 40 lb of radial force, allowing direct coupling to moderate-duty motor shafts or gearbox stubs without external isolators. The rotor has a moment of inertia of 7.9 × 10^-4 oz-in-s², so acceleration of the sensing element adds negligible lag to the motor response. The total installed mass is 16 oz, supporting installations where cantilever loading on support brackets must remain low. The permitted axial and radial loads help the encoder accommodate varying shaft thrust and belt tension. Its low running and starting torque also reduces resistance during shaft rotation. These characteristics support stable pulse generation during changes in speed and mechanical load.
