Product Description:
The HS35036073126 is an incremental hollow-shaft encoder built by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. By translating rotary motion into discrete electrical pulses, the unit supplies position and velocity feedback to variable-speed drives, PLC counters, and other control hardware in automated machinery. Its hollow-shaft design allows direct coupling to a motor through a flexible tether, eliminating the need for gearing. This arrangement minimizes backlash and preserves accuracy in indexing, conveying, and tension-control applications.
The device can track rapid shaft movement with a minimum frequency response of 100 kHz. Each revolution is divided into 360 PPR, providing 1-degree resolution for mid-range motor control tasks. The push-pull electronics provide a sink or source current of up to 40 mA, enabling direct wiring to most PLC input cards without additional line drivers. The maximum mechanical speed is 3600 rpm, keeping the generated signal within the available bandwidth. The encoder produces single-ended, bidirectional A and B output signals that follow the push-pull standard. These output channels allow the connected control hardware to detect forward and reverse rotation with minimal cabling.
The fan-cover mounting style positions the encoder behind the motor guard, while a bore diameter of 1/2 inch and a shaft-bore tolerance of +0.0003 to +0.0005 inch provide a secure fit on compatible shafts. Startup drag is limited to a maximum of 5.0 oz-in, and rotor inertia is only 7.9 × 10^-4 oz-in-s², so the encoder places little additional acceleration demand on the drive. The aluminum housing has a sealing rating of NEMA 4 / IP66, protecting internal components against dust and high-pressure washdown. Electrical connection is provided through a 7-pin connector, and the mating connector is included. The encoder has a maximum weight of 16 oz, which reduces the load placed on lightweight motor housings. Its direct mounting arrangement also avoids the alignment requirements associated with external couplings and separate support brackets.
