Product Description:
The HS2010248444704 is an incremental rotary encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It mounts on a driven shaft and translates mechanical rotation into electrical pulse trains so that motion controllers can monitor speed and angular displacement in industrial automation systems such as packaging lines, conveyors, and machine tools. The unit’s hollow-shaft configuration allows it to couple directly to a motor or gearhead without intermediate bearings, reducing alignment error and overall system length.
A code disk engraved for 1024 PPR sets the fundamental angular resolution, delivering 1,024 quadrature cycles for each full revolution of the shaft. Signals are driven by a 7272 differential line driver, providing balanced A, complementary A, B, complementary B, Z, and complementary Z outputs that resist electrical noise over long cable runs. The internal sensing electronics track edge changes up to 100 kHz, allowing reliable feedback in high-speed servo loops. Mechanical operation supports a peak shaft speed of 6000 rpm, and the enclosure has a NEMA 4/IP65 ingress protection rating for use in washdown or dusty plant areas. A 5.88-inch bolt circle with three 3/8-inch mounting holes secures the housing, while the 5/8-inch bore mates with standard motor shafts. At least 0.80 inch of shaft length is required for the compression clamp. The MS3106A-18-1S connector carries power and differential signals to the drive.
Startup drag on the host axis is limited to 12.0 oz-in of starting torque. A rotor inertia of 5.1 × 10-4 oz-in-s² helps prevent noticeable delays during acceleration commands. Axial installation tolerance permits endplay up to ±0.050 in, while radial precision is maintained with total runout held to ±0.005 in. The encoder delivers complementary A, B, and Z signal pairs, allowing controllers to determine direction from the quadrature channels. The Z channel provides one index pulse per revolution without requiring an additional sensor. These output channels help the controller maintain consistent position tracking throughout the supported operating range.
