Product Description:
The HR62510000240 is an incremental rotary encoder from Danaher, supplied under the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed for feedback loops on servomotors, conveyors, and positioning tables, it attaches directly to a rotating shaft and converts mechanical motion into discrete electrical pulses. Control systems count these pulses to calculate velocity and monitor relative travel from a home reference, supporting repeatable indexing, tension regulation, and synchronized sequencing in industrial automation cells.
Its housing is rated NEMA 4/IP66, protecting the circuitry against dust and pressurized washdowns. Electrical performance centers on a frequency response of 100 kHz, so the encoder can generate stable pulse streams during high-speed motion. The device draws up to 80 mA from the 5 V supply that energizes its CMOS electronics. A 7272 line driver produces complementary outputs capable of sourcing or sinking 40 mA, enabling signal transmission over long cables without significant degradation. These outputs use a differential, no-index configuration that provides channels A and B only, and they follow Format A timing conventions. Signals exit through an end-mounted 10-pin MS connector, simplifying cable routing and access within the machine.
The unit uses a flange-mounted body that aligns with standard motor faces. The stainless-steel shaft measures 3/8 in in diameter, limits runout to 0.001 in TIR, and tolerates combined radial or axial loads of 80 lb without premature bearing wear. The maximum operating speed reaches 10,000 rpm, matching the capabilities of the internal bearings and electronics. Each revolution produces 1,000 PPR, providing fine angular resolution for accurate position and speed measurements. Differential signaling helps minimize pulse jitter and electrical interference at this resolution. The encoder has an overall mass of 1.5 lb, allowing installation on small actuators without significantly affecting their balance or mechanical load.
