Product Description:
The HR52505000641 is an incremental optical encoder produced by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. It attaches directly to a machine shaft and converts mechanical rotation into two phase-shifted digital pulse trains so that PLCs and servo drives can calculate velocity and position in real time. The unit’s flange mounting and 3/8-inch shaft simplify coupling to motors or rollers in material-handling, packaging, and general automation equipment.
The housing has a NEMA 12/IP54 protection rating, which limits dust ingress and protects against splashed fluids encountered in industrial settings. Optical sensing discs generate 500 PPR, providing consistent incremental feedback for medium-resolution motion tasks. Heavy-duty bearings support a combined shaft load of 80 lb radial and 80 lb axial, allowing the shaft to withstand loads from overhung pulleys or belts without premature wear. The maximum shaft runout is 0.001 inch TIR, helping the encoder maintain stable alignment during rotation. The permitted speed is 10,000 rpm, so accurate pulse spacing is maintained on high-speed spindles. The encoder operates without an index channel and provides only A and B signals, while the differential quadrature format improves noise immunity over long cable runs.
Electrical connectivity is provided through a 7-pin side-mounted MS connector, which routes the supply, channel outputs, and shield ground while keeping wiring perpendicular to the mounting face. The electronics accept 5–26 VDC at a maximum of 80 mA, allowing the same model to operate from common control rails such as 5 V logic or 24 V field power. Incremental outputs are driven by a 7272 differential line driver, which delivers complementary A and B signal pairs. A minimum frequency response of 100 kHz keeps counts valid at the highest rated shaft speed. The encoder operates across a temperature range of 0 to +70 °C, matching typical enclosure temperatures. Signal integrity is reinforced by flange grounding and differential signaling, which reduce susceptibility to industrial electromagnetic interference.
