Product Description:
The HC62536004331 is an incremental rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It converts mechanical rotation into discrete electrical pulses so that PLCs, drives, and motion controllers can determine angular position and velocity in real time. A 2.50-inch servo flange with three mounting holes on a 2.00-inch bolt circle forms the attachment interface, allowing the device to fasten directly to small motor or gearbox housings in packaging machines, material-handling lines, and general factory automation.
Electrical characteristics support high-speed feedback. The resolution is 3600 PPR, supplying one quadrature cycle for every tenth of a degree. These pulses can be processed at frequencies up to 250 kHz, so full resolution is retained even when the shaft approaches its maximum speed. The drive electronics draw a maximum of 80 mA from the control rail, minimizing the load on encoder power supplies. Output signals are provided by a 5 V line driver configured with differential channels and an index marker, providing noise-resistant transmission over long cables. Startup friction is limited to a maximum of 2.5 oz-in, reducing motor load during acceleration. Termination is provided through a 10-pin side-mount connector that mates with common ribbon or discrete-wire harnesses.
The stainless steel shaft measures 3/8 inch in diameter and supports continuous operation at a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm. A factory-installed shaft seal blocks contamination, and the housing carries a combined NEMA 4 / IP66 rating for protection against dust and water jets. The rotor has an inertia of 2.83 x 10^-4 oz-in-s^2, permitting rapid stop-and-start cycles without requiring controller retuning. The integrated seal supports operation in washdown areas and dusty production zones. The index marker supplies a repeatable reference pulse for homing and position verification, while the differential channels help preserve signal quality in electrically noisy machinery.
