The HC62536000015 is a rotary incremental encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. In automated machinery, this device mounts directly to a motor or line shaft and converts mechanical rotation into electrical pulses that a drive or PLC uses for speed regulation, position tracking, and closed-loop feedback. By supplying precise pulse information without internal counting electronics, the unit serves as a sensing element that simplifies motion control while tolerating the electrical conditions common in industrial plants.
The resolution is 3600 PPR, so one mechanical revolution produces 3,600 equally spaced pulses that enable controllers to resolve positions down to 0.1 degrees. The sensing electronics respond at frequencies up to 250 kHz, allowing high pulse rates when the shaft turns at its rated speed of 10,000 rpm. This response rate prevents missed counts in fast indexing equipment. Proper phase separation is maintained because the A and B channels are aligned at 90° ±25° electrical, which supports accurate quadrature decoding. Power is accepted across a wide 5–26 VDC supply range, allowing the encoder to operate from common control buses without dedicated regulators. The encoder starts turning with only 2.5 oz-in of torque and supports single-ended signal transmission. It uses a flange mount for rigid coupling and does not include an index channel, making it suitable for systems in which homing is managed elsewhere.
Environmental protection is provided by a NEMA 4/IP66 housing that blocks dust ingress and prevents directed water spray from reaching the internal optics. The stainless steel shaft measures 3/8 in in diameter and is fitted with a shaft seal, so coolant splash does not migrate into the bearing cavity. The encoder supports a radial load of 40 lb and an axial load of 30 lb without shortening its service life, which eases alignment tolerances during installation. Signal lines leave the encoder through an open-collector driver, permitting wired-OR connections and the use of simple pull-up resistors in standard control cabinets. This output arrangement also allows the signal voltage to be matched to the receiving control circuit within the permitted electrical range.
