Product Description:
The HC5263600A340 is an incremental rotary encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. The unit attaches to a motor or driven shaft and converts mechanical rotation into two digital channels so that drives and PLCs can monitor position, velocity, and direction. This feedback supports industrial automation tasks such as indexing, registration, and servo control. Its servo-style mounting allows direct installation on compact motors while maintaining signal integrity in high-speed operating environments.
The encoder has a resolution of 3600 PPR, meaning one full revolution produces 3,600 pulses per channel. It supports a maximum shaft speed of 10,000 rpm, and its internal sensing electronics track this motion with a 250 kHz frequency response. This response helps the output stage transmit pulse signals without loss at high rotational speeds. A 3/8-inch solid shaft carries the code wheel and provides a direct mechanical interface with the rotating equipment. Quadrature outputs in the AB pattern are separated by a 90° ±25° electrical phase, while channel duty cycles remain within the 180° ±25° electrical symmetry window for reliable edge counting. The device has a maximum current draw of 80 mA, allowing several encoders to share an appropriately sized low-current power rail.
The encoder tolerates an axial shaft load of 30 lb and a radial shaft load of 40 lb, reducing the need for external isolation bearings in many belt-driven assemblies. The aluminum hub has a 1.88-inch bolt circle with three equally spaced mounting holes. Its standard servo-mount clamp centers the unit consistently to reduce eccentricity during rotation. The output drivers can source a maximum of 40 mA per channel, providing stable logic levels across long cable runs. A rotor inertia of 2.83 × 10⁻⁴ oz-in-sec² limits dynamic loading on the host motor. This low inertia helps the connected drive maintain responsive speed control during rapid acceleration and deceleration.
