Product Description:
The HA62525000041 rotary encoder is produced by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoders series. This glass-disc optical sensor mounts to machinery shafts and delivers pulse trains that a control system uses to monitor angular displacement and velocity in industrial automation cells. By translating mechanical motion into precise electrical counts, the unit enables closed-loop speed regulation, accurate indexing, and real-time position verification across conveyors, robotic joints, and packaging equipment. Because it shares mechanical dimensions common to fractional-inch shafts, it can be integrated into retrofit projects and original designs without custom adapters.
The encoder provides a resolution of 2500 PPR, meaning every full revolution is divided into 2,500 evenly spaced pulses for fine incremental tracking. The output stage supports a frequency of at least 100 kHz, so high-speed controllers can receive clean edges without missed counts. The code wheel may rotate continuously at up to 5000 rpm before overspeed becomes a concern. Motion startup imposes a maximum driving torque of only 2.5 oz-in on the connected motor. A shaft diameter of 3/8 in matches standard imperial couplings, reducing alignment errors and the need for reduction sleeves.
The housing carries a combined NEMA 4 / IP66 enclosure rating, which protects the internal components against dust and powerful water jets when the integral shaft seal is installed correctly. Precision bearings accommodate thrust and side forces, tolerating axial loads up to 40 lb and radial loads up to 35 lb. This load capacity allows direct coupling to suitable belt drives or gearboxes without auxiliary shaft support. At a mass of only 1.5 lb, the encoder adds little weight to the drive train. Its low rotor moment supports responsive motion, while the 90° ± 22.5° electrical quadrature phasing maintains accurate channel separation for direction sensing during dynamic acceleration.
