Product Description:
The HA62512500341 encoder is an incremental optical unit produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. Installed at the end of a motor or machine shaft, it translates rotary motion into electrical signals that a drive or PLC can count and time. This conversion supports closed-loop control of speed and position in automated packaging lines, material-handling conveyors, and general factory equipment.
The device provides a resolution of 1,250 pulses per revolution, supporting precise velocity and displacement calculations. Its internal electronics can switch at up to 100 kHz, enabling reliable tracking when rapid acceleration produces high pulse rates. A supply range of 5 to 26 VDC allows the differential line-driver electronics to interface with common 5 V logic and higher-voltage industrial receivers. The encoder supports a maximum service speed of 5,000 rpm; within this limit, the code disk, bearings, and optics maintain accuracy without undue wear. Protection against dust, oil, and directed water jets is provided by an encapsulated housing with a combined NEMA 4 / IP66 rating, making the encoder suitable for washdown areas or outdoor enclosures.
The 0.875-inch flange mount simplifies alignment, while the side-mounted 10-pin MS connector provides a detachable interface for field wiring. A solid shaft with a diameter of 3/8 in matches many fractional-horsepower motors, and the ball-bearing set tolerates radial loads up to 35 lb and axial loads up to 40 lb before deflection affects signal integrity. Startup friction is limited to 2.5 oz-in, reducing the drive torque required during machine startup. The storage temperature range of -40 to +90 °C allows units to remain in unconditioned storage areas, while the normal operating temperature ranges from 0 to +70 °C. The differential line-driver output includes an index channel for reference homing, and optical sensing provides minimal delay between mechanical motion and electrical response.
