Product Description:
The HA62510004046 is an incremental rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. In motion-control systems, it converts shaft rotation into electrical pulses that a drive or PLC counts to determine position and speed. This feedback supports closed-loop regulation of servomotors, conveyors, and web-handling equipment. The pulse stream allows the connected controller to monitor changes in shaft direction and rotational velocity during operation.
This model draws a maximum of 80 mA, so it places a light load on the control power supply. Its minimum signal bandwidth is 100 kHz, allowing reliable pulse counting at high machine speeds. Output transitions settle in less than 1 µs, which minimizes timing errors in fast counters. The mechanical resolution is 1000 PPR, providing one thousand quadrature cycles per revolution for fine incremental feedback. The housing has an IP66 ingress protection rating, which prevents dust entry and resists powerful water jets in washdown areas. Radial loading is limited to 35 lb, while a starting torque of 2.5 oz-in helps reduce the force required to initiate shaft movement. Internal capacitance is 1000 pF, and the moment of inertia is 3.0 × 10⁻⁴ oz-in-s². Output phasing is 90° ±22.5°, while the symmetry between high and low states is 180° ±18° for standard quadrature decoding.
The encoder tolerates shaft speeds up to 5,000 rpm without losing signal integrity. It can withstand shocks of 50 g during handling or machine impact. The shaft supports an axial load of up to 40 lb, which should be considered when selecting a coupling and mounting arrangement. This load limit helps prevent excessive bearing stress during operation. With a mass of 1.5 lb, the encoder adds little weight to small-frame motors and compact machine assemblies. Its low mass also reduces the structural load placed on brackets used in space-constrained installations.
