Product Description:
The HA52501200611PS is a rotary shaft encoder manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. This device attaches to a motor or machine shaft and produces digital pulse trains that allow motion controllers to monitor position and speed in industrial automation systems, supporting closed-loop regulation and fault detection. By translating mechanical rotation into electrical counts, it removes the need for gear-driven transducers and simplifies drive diagnostics in compact equipment. Its flange body and side-mounted connector fit neatly into motor end bells and small sensor brackets.
Internally, the encoder provides a resolution of 120 PPR, so each full revolution yields 120 evenly spaced pulses that the drive electronics can count. The sensing electronics have a frequency response of at least 100 kHz, allowing the pulse stream to remain accurate when the shaft turns at speeds up to 5000 rpm. Output transistors use an open-collector configuration, and the line driver provides complementary A and B channels in a differential format to improve noise immunity. Because the unit has no index channel or output pull-up resistors, those functions must be handled by the receiving controller. Startup friction is limited to 1.0 oz-in. The enclosure has an IP54 rating, helping protect the code disk from dust and light splashing.
A flange mount aligns the housing precisely, and the 3/8 in shaft accommodates rigid couplings. The shaft tolerates axial thrust loads of 40 lb and radial loads of 35 lb without reducing bearing life. Connection is completed through a side-mounted connector that keeps cabling clear of rotating parts. The encoder weighs 1.5 lb, limiting the additional load placed on lightweight machine assemblies. Its compact housing also allows installation where space around the motor shaft is restricted. The connector orientation supports orderly cable routing without requiring wiring to pass directly behind the rotating coupling.
