Product Description:
The H5620481643 encoder is produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It is an incremental magnetic feedback device that installs on rotating machinery and converts shaft movement into discrete electrical pulses for drive and PLC positioning tasks in industrial automation. By supplying two offset channels and an index, the unit enables velocity regulation, directional sensing, and homing routines on motors, conveyors, and converting lines.
Electrically, the device outputs a pair of incremental magnetic channels capable of resolving shaft motion while operating at a shaft velocity of up to 3,600 rpm. The internal sensing electronics follow changes as fast as a 120 kHz frequency response, so high pulse counts are processed without missed transitions. Driver circuitry can source or sink up to 150 mA, allowing direct wiring to optically isolated counters or differential line receivers. Mechanical breakout from rest requires only 7 in-oz of starting torque, minimizing the load on small-diameter shafts. Installation allowances include ±0.150 in of axial end play and a minimum shaft engagement of 2.0 in. Signal symmetry remains within 180° ± 54° to maintain equal high and low pulse widths.
Dynamic performance is sustained during rapid indexing because the encoder tolerates a peak acceleration of 3,600 rpm/s without pulse dropout. The hub seats on shafts exhibiting no more than 0.015 in TIR of radial runout, preserving the head-to-disc spacing required for reliable magnetic sensing. Channel timing is maintained with 90° ± 22° quadrature so position counters can distinguish forward and reverse motion; channel A leads channel B when the host shaft turns counterclockwise. Machine builders anchor the housing through its hollow shaft with tether arrangement, which eliminates reaction torque while simplifying alignment. The assembly weighs 9.3 lb, providing a stable reference mass that resists vibration in packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment.
