Product Description:
The H5620481441 is an incremental magnetic encoder produced by Danaher and supplied under the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed for motion-feedback tasks, it converts shaft rotation into electrical quadrature signals for drive regulation and position verification in industrial automation. The unit installs by means of a hollow shaft with a tethered clamp, so no separate coupling is required, and it mates with shafts that extend at least 2.0 in. Differential, bidirectional drivers provide complementary outputs that improve noise immunity over long cable runs.
The resolution is 2048 PPR, providing 2048 pulses for each mechanical revolution and enabling fine speed calculations at the controller. The sensor can support frequencies up to 120 kHz, which is the maximum transition rate that the downstream PLC must accept. Shaft rotation may reach 3,600 rpm continuously without signal degradation, and the driver stages can sink or source up to 150 mA to accommodate optically isolated or terminated line receivers. A starting torque of 7 in-oz must be overcome when initiating shaft movement; once the shaft is moving, the average torque is lower. Quadrature tracks are held 90° ± 22° apart, with channel A leading channel B during counterclockwise motion. Mark-to-space symmetry is maintained within 180° ± 54°, preserving duty-cycle accuracy across the speed range.
Mechanical tolerances permit axial displacement of ±0.150 in and radial runout of 0.015 in TIR between the machine shaft and encoder bore, reducing the need for highly precise alignment during installation. During rapid indexing sequences, the rotor can accelerate at rates up to 3,600 rpm/s without magnetic slippage or tether fatigue. The assembly weighs 9.3 lb, so mounting plates should support the static load while allowing the cabled tether bracket to move freely. The hollow-shaft arrangement places the encoder directly around the rotating shaft, while the tether prevents the housing from turning with the rotor. Proper clearance around the bracket helps prevent cable strain during repeated acceleration and deceleration cycles.
