The H221000110245 incremental rotary encoder is manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. It attaches to a 3/8-inch shaft and produces quadrature square-wave outputs with an index pulse, allowing a PLC or drive to derive position, direction, and velocity data in real time. In industrial automation, this device serves as the feedback element for servo loops, conveyors, and motor speed regulation. It translates mechanical rotation into electrical signals recognized by digital controllers.
With a resolution of 1000 PPR, the encoder provides one thousand pulses per revolution, enabling sub-degree positioning accuracy when quadrature edges are counted. The quadrature channels are separated by 90° ±18° electrical, allowing direction sensing through lead-lag detection of the A and B outputs. The signal symmetry remains at 180° ±18° electrical, so high-speed counters receive equal high and low intervals that reduce timing errors. An index track produces a reference pulse with a width of 225° ±90° electrical, giving controllers one reference position during each revolution. Digital waveforms maintain their integrity at frequencies up to 120 kHz, supporting rapid scanning in high-speed applications.
The hollow-shaft assembly tolerates continuous rotation at speeds up to 6000 rpm without compromising bearing life. The driver circuitry uses open-collector transistors that can pull the line to ground, while external logic supplies up to 30 VDC through the built-in 2.2 kΩ pull-up resistor.
