Product Description:
The H221000100235 is an incremental optical rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. Designed for motion-control loops, it attaches to rotating shafts on packaging machines, conveyors, or servo gearheads and translates mechanical rotation into two square-wave channels that drive counters and vector drives. By providing immediate position and speed information, the device allows automation controllers to maintain consistent throughput and detect slip or overload conditions during production.
The encoder accepts an input supply of 5–26 VDC, a range that suits both TTL and 24 V control buses, while its differential driver reproduces the same 5–26 V output level for the receiving electronics. At a resolution of 1000 PPR, each revolution yields 1000 quadrature cycles so drives can command fine incremental moves. Output is provided through a differential line driver (7272) on channels A and B, producing balanced signals that resist common-mode noise. The device carries a NEMA 12/IP54 enclosure rating that keeps airborne dust and splashed fluids away from the optical disk. Continuous service is allowed at speeds up to 10,000 rpm, and the optical assembly maintains accuracy at that speed when supported by the flange-mounted housing and the 3/8-inch shaft with a flat.
The encoder withstands shaft loads of 80 lb radial and 80 lb axial, supporting belt-driven or gear-coupled installations. Startup drag is limited to a maximum of 2.0 oz-in at 25 °C with the seal in place, so small servomotors can bring the system to speed without excessive overshoot. A 1.25-inch male pilot with a shaft seal centers the body and blocks lubricant migration. Signal lines exit through a side-mounted 10-pin connector, reducing cable bend stress in tight panels. Operation remains stable from 0 to +70 °C, allowing use near control cabinets and on equipment frames without active cooling.
