Product Description:
The H220100100245 is an incremental rotary encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. Installed on a motor or driven shaft, the unit converts mechanical rotation into standardized quadrature pulse trains so a drive or PLC can monitor position and velocity in real time. Its flange-mounted housing and integrated shaft seal permit direct coupling to industrial motors, conveyors, or web-handling rolls. The resulting feedback supports closed-loop speed control, tension regulation, and index positioning across automated machinery.
The encoder supports a maximum rotational speed of 10,000 rpm, allowing the code disk to rotate rapidly without signal dropout. The sensing electronics track transitions at frequencies up to 100 kHz, so the controller continues to receive clean pulses when an application requires faster line rates. Internal logic draws no more than 80 mA from the supply, reducing the load on drive logic rails. The encoder tolerates an axial shaft load of up to 80 lb, helping protect its bearings when it is coupled to a driven shaft. A 5 V differential line driver provides noise-resistant output channels for cable runs in electrically noisy industrial environments.
The fixed resolution of 100 PPR delivers evenly spaced counts that simplify scaling in PLC software. A machined pilot with a diameter of 1.25 in centers the housing on a mating machine face, while the solid shaft has a diameter of 3/8 in for compatibility with common couplings. Maximum starting torque is limited to 2.0 oz-in, allowing small servo motors to accelerate the encoder disk without a significant loss of performance. The device operates from 5 to 26 VDC, providing compatibility with a broad range of industrial control supplies. It can operate at ambient temperatures up to +70 °C without derating, allowing installation near motors or gearboxes that generate heat.
