Product Description:
The H220005032021 is an incremental rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. This sensing device converts shaft rotation into digital position and speed information for servo drives and PLC counters in automated machinery. By providing two offset output channels, it enables direction detection and helps motion controllers maintain precise velocity and homing functions on conveyors, winders, and positioning tables.
A sealed housing rated at NEMA 12/IP54 resists airborne oil and dust, while the servo-mount frame uses a three-point #4-40 pattern on a 1.50 in bolt circle for repeatable concentricity. The hollow hub accepts a 3/8 in shaft and tolerates mating shaft runout up to 0.010 in TIR, so moderate misalignment does not degrade signal quality. Internal bearings accommodate surface speeds up to 10,000 rpm, and the optical electronics respond to input frequencies of at least 100 kHz, preventing pulse loss at maximum speed. A 7272 push-pull driver provides symmetrical, high-current quadrature signals for reliable communication with the connected controller. The side-mounted six-pin connector simplifies wiring and keeps the cable connection accessible after the encoder is installed.
The encoder generates 5 PPR on channels A and B, delivering coarse but reliable feedback where only basic speed tracking is required. Quadrature spacing remains within 90° ± 22.5° electrical, so the controller can determine the direction of rotation with an adequate noise margin. Each channel’s duty cycle remains within 180° ± 18° to maintain uniform count timing. Because the code wheel is incremental, the host counter calculates position from accumulated pulses instead of receiving an embedded absolute position value. Startup drag is limited to 1.0 oz-in, permitting direct coupling to small motors without adding an appreciable mechanical load. The servo-mount body supports accurate alignment with the driven shaft, while the side connector provides access to the A and B output channels. This arrangement supports applications that need straightforward speed measurement, direction sensing, or position counting without absolute feedback.
