Product Description:
The E2305000904 rotary encoder is manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. It converts angular movement into two phase-shifted square-wave channels that allow drives and PLCs to monitor speed, direction, and incremental position in conveyors, packaging equipment, and indexing tables. The shielded bearing arrangement and sealed housing help the sensor withstand production-floor conditions while maintaining a compact profile for direct motor mounting.
This model provides a resolution of 500 PPR, so each full revolution produces five hundred pulses for incremental position measurement. A minimum frequency response of 100 kHz supports accurate signal transmission at high shaft speeds. The encoder has a differential output stage that supplies complementary signals to improve noise immunity over the included 15 ft cable. Quadrature spacing is maintained at 90° ±18° electrical, while waveform symmetry is controlled to 180° ±9° electrical. These timing tolerances support accurate direction detection and velocity measurement. The shielded bearing set retains lubricant and helps prevent contaminants from reaching the internal optical disk, while starting torque is limited to 0.2 oz-in. The encoder has no index channel, and its Format C output requires receiving electronics that recognize the corresponding rising-edge sequence.
The enclosure has a rating of NEMA 12/IP54, protecting the electronics from dust and incidental water splashes. The encoder supports shaft speeds up to 5,000 rpm, and its permitted ambient operating temperature ranges from 0 to +70 °C. Its 1/4 in shaft fits standard compatible couplings without requiring an adapter. Radial or axial shaft loading must not exceed 5 lb to prevent premature bearing wear. The low-mass quadrature disk and balanced internal assembly help maintain alignment while the encoder operates within the permitted load and speed limits.
