Product Description:
The E141000007001B is an incremental rotary encoder manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoders series. It is designed for mounting on a 1/4-inch shaft. The encoder supplies digital position and velocity feedback to drives, PLCs, and motion controllers, enabling closed-loop regulation of motors, conveyors, and other automated equipment.
This encoder operates from a regulated 5 VDC supply and consumes no more than 80 mA, allowing it to be powered directly from common control logic rails. Its resolution of 1000 PPR lets a controller detect angular changes of 0.36 degrees per count, supporting fine speed adjustments and accurate registration. A minimum frequency response of 100 kHz permits reliable pulse detection even when the shaft spins near the device’s upper speed limit. The output stage provides differential bidirectional signals with an index, improving noise immunity and delivering a once-per-revolution reference mark for homing cycles. Each channel has a 40 mA sink/source capability, allowing the encoder to drive long cable runs or optically isolated receiver circuits. Protection against airborne dust and splashing liquids is provided by a housing rated at NEMA 12/IP54, making the unit suitable for typical factory environments.
A maximum operating speed of 5000 rpm matches most fractional-horsepower motors, while sealed ball bearings prevent contaminant ingress and maintain smooth rotation. The low rotor inertia of 3.8 × 10-5 oz-in-s² minimizes additional load on drive shafts. The design tolerates external forces of up to 5 lb radial and 3 lb axial without affecting accuracy. Starting torque is 0.43 oz-in, and running torque is 0.42 oz-in, so back-driving forces remain negligible. An 18-inch shielded cable is attached for quick wiring. The complete assembly weighs no more than 3.0 oz, easing integration on moving axes such as pick-and-place heads or robotic wrists.
