Product Description:
The AI2500100A92F is an absolute rotary encoder produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoders series. As a single-turn positioning device, it reports unique shaft positions during each 360-degree revolution and sends that data to motion controllers over the integrated DeviceNet fieldbus. In industrial automation, it supplies precise angular feedback for servo axes, index tables, and similar mechanisms that rely on deterministic position values rather than incremental counts.
It delivers ±0.01° mechanical accuracy, a figure that represents the maximum deviation between the measured and true shaft angles in static tests. Internal optics provide 10-bit resolution, so 1,024 discrete codes are available per turn, and linearity remains within ±½ LSB to keep each code band uniform. The encoder sustains continuous operation up to 10,000 rpm while drawing only 220 mA from the DeviceNet bus. A sealed enclosure rated at IP67 blocks dust ingress and protects against temporary immersion, while the aluminum housing further resists corrosion. Position words are transmitted in a binary output format, and the single M12 five-pole bus cover simplifies daisy-chain termination.
Its repeatability is ±0.002°, so successive samples return virtually identical values under identical conditions. Mechanical overload tolerance is high because the 6 mm solid shaft withstands an axial load of 40 N and a radial load of 60 N. A transient overspeed of up to 12,000 rpm is permitted for brief events. Device communication conforms to DeviceNet V2.0, supporting integration with compatible PLC networks. A servo-style flange allows concentric mounting, and the single-turn architecture avoids the complexity of multi-turn gearing. Current remains stable across the rated temperature range, and the encoder’s bus-cover termination keeps the wiring secure in high-vibration installations.
