The 2212701230 is an incremental encoder designed by Danaher Automation to provide an extremely precise torque supply in industrial automation systems. This encoder unit is part of the “QUBE” encoder series; it meets the IP67 protection category and can function optimally even when exposed to common interference like dust or water splashes. A new Phased-Array ASIC sensor is integrated into this encoder design, which expands the resolution of the product to about 1270 pulses per revolution. A smooth round shaft is attached to the encoder unit to provide accurate torque supply while maintaining an efficiency level that is at least as high as 90 per cent. The integrated shaft is made from stainless steel, while the encoder housing and cover are built from aluminum.
The 2212701230 encoder unit features a code disc made from Mylar material; this code disk is virtually unbreakable, as it is typical of the encoder product unit. The supply voltage required by this encoder design for operation falls between 5 to about 26 volts, while its required input power is about 75 milliamperes. Before this unit is delivered, it is tested to the EN61326-1 noise immunity level. The encoder is also certified to be reverse polarity and short-circuit protected.
The shaft integrated into the 2212701230 encoder unit can reach a maximum speed of about 6,000 revolutions per minute, with a shaft tolerance of about 0.0003 inches. Unlike conventional industrial products, the permissible temperature for this product unit is extremely wide. The encoder can withstand temperature levels that are 40 degrees below freezing temperature and as high as 100 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels around this converter can also be as high as 98 per cent without any effect on the product.
