By converting mechanical motion into digital pulse streams, the device supplies real-time position and speed data for closed-loop control in automated conveyors, packaging equipment, and light machine tools.
The encoder has a resolution of 60 PPR, meaning each revolution generates sixty rising-edge events per channel for usable count density. Signals are organized in a two-channel quadrature (AB) format, allowing direction recognition because channels A and B are phase-shifted. With the factory orientation, channel A leads channel B during clockwise rotation, producing a distinct sequence that controllers use to determine direction. The angular displacement between channels is held to 90° ± 18°, a tolerance that maintains duty-cycle balance and minimizes decoding errors at speed.
