Internal Product Review
The XSJ-230-02 is a XENUS digital loop module with a wide 85-264 VAC input range and 50-60 Hz mains compatibility. Control performance looks well balanced with 1 Adc continuous current and 2 Adc peak current for short demand events. For machine integration, 14 inputs / 4 outputs and 9600-115200 baud RS-232 support make the module a very capable motion-control interface.

Product Description:
The XSJ-230-02 digital loop module is produced by Copley Controls for the XENUS Digital Loop Modules series. It serves as a compact drive element that closes current and velocity loops for low-power brushless or voice-coil actuators, allowing a higher-level controller to command precise motion without requiring a large cabinet drive. By conditioning mains power, monitoring feedback devices, and exchanging data through serial links, the module supports automation tasks that demand tight electrical control in limited installation space.
The power stage accepts a single-phase supply of 85–264 VAC at a mains frequency of 50–60 Hz. Under a steady load, it supplies 1 A DC, while transient demands can be met with 2 A DC for one second before the current limiter restores the continuous rating. The isolated control electronics operate from +20 to +32 VDC and draw up to 500 mA, allowing the control logic to remain powered when the mains supply is off. The switching bridge modulates the output at 15 kHz, while a secondary ripple component at 30 kHz shapes the differential spectrum to reduce audible noise without sacrificing loop bandwidth.
System integration is handled through 14 inputs and 4 outputs that connect limit switches, amplifier enables, and drive-ready signals to PLC registers. Encoders can be powered by an internal +5 V supply rated at 250 mA, while motion commands and diagnostic data travel over an asynchronous link supporting 9,600–115,200 baud. The module operates at temperatures from 0 to +45 °C and weighs 0.30 kg. Its compact housing measures 126 × 89 × 53 mm, allowing installation in space-constrained control panels. Storage is permitted at temperatures from −40 to +85 °C when the module is not operating.
