The 800-1588B is a dual-axis digital loop module from Copley Controls in the XENUS Digital Loop Modules series. It closes current, velocity, and position loops for two motors inside multi-axis servo cabinets. This control role helps coordinated machinery follow precise motion commands in packaging equipment, pick-and-place systems, and semiconductor handling platforms. Its dual-axis architecture helps reduce cabinet space compared with using two separate loop modules for paired servo channels.
Each axis can supply a continuous output of 10 Adc. For short overloads, the drive delivers 20 Adc for 1 s, giving the system brief extra force during acceleration or impact recovery. The inner current loop runs at 16 kHz, allowing fast PWM updates that help reduce ripple and improve response. Two reference inputs accept analog or digital commands, and dual STO inputs support safety-circuit integration without external relays.
Reliable operation requires a minimum load inductance of 200 µH, which helps keep switching transients within device limits. Command values are digitized at 14-bit resolution, allowing fine speed or position adjustment. The electronics withstand shocks of 10 g for 10 ms, and single-phase operation draws 18 Arms. A three-phase supply reduces input current to 14 Arms and improves bus capacitor utilization. This combination supports stable regulation when the module is mounted on equipment exposed to vibration, motion, or load changes.
