The 800-1560A is a compact servo and stepper drive produced by Copley Controls within the Stepnet Compact Drives series. It is intended for mounting near the motor, where it conditions DC bus power and closes current and position loops. CANopen communication lets the drive coordinate with other axes in industrial automation systems and complex coordinated production cells.

This model draws a continuous input of 5.5 Adc from a DC supply and delivers up to 5 Apeak per phase for normal torque production on hybrid or brushless motors. Short bursts can reach 7 Apeak, which helps the machine break static friction during startup or indexing moves. A current-loop update rate of 15 kHz keeps commanded current closely aligned with the reference value for stable response.

Fieldbus traffic moves across the CAN network at 1 Mbit/s, allowing quick parameter changes and status exchange without a separate motion card. The position servo refreshes at 3 kHz, improving following performance during contouring moves and other coordinated motion. Encoder signals are accepted at up to 8 Mcount/s, and the step input can process as much as 2 MHz for compatibility with older pulse-and-direction controllers.
