The PST-075-10-EF is a dedicated DC power supply manufactured by Copley Controls within the PST Power Supplies series. It furnishes a common direct-current bus to multiple servo or stepper amplifiers in industrial automation cabinets, converting utility power into a high-energy rail that supports rapid motor acceleration and regenerative events. Locating the supply outside the individual drives centralizes power conversion, simplifies wiring, and reduces the footprint of multi-axis motion systems. Its linear, unregulated topology also avoids the high-frequency switching noise that could interfere with sensitive feedback signals.
The unit accepts single-phase service at 120 VAC from networks operating at 60 Hz, and its maximum input current is 9 A. A factory-installed circuit breaker rated at 15 A provides overcurrent protection during inrush or short-circuit events. Internally, a toroidal transformer steps down the incoming voltage before rectification. Continuous power delivery is limited to 750 W, while a 3.9 kΩ bleeder resistor discharges stored energy after AC power is removed. Output ripple is held to 2% of the bus voltage, helping velocity loops remain stable under dynamic loading. The omission of active regulation minimizes the component count while maintaining the intended DC output range.
On the DC side, the supply provides a nominal bus voltage of 75 VDC. Under a full load, the output decreases to +70 VDC, while operation without a load allows it to rise to 77 VDC. A filter bank with a total capacitance of 20,000 µF stores energy to satisfy sudden changes in drive demand. The terminals support a continuous load of 10 A, allowing several connected axes to draw power from the shared bus during normal operation. Up to six amplifier chassis can be powered simultaneously without exceeding the available current. The common DC connection reduces the number of separate supply assemblies required inside a multi-axis automation cabinet.
