Product Description:
The PST-075-10 is a regulated DC power supply produced by Copley Controls for the PST Power Supplies series. It is intended for industrial automation panels, where it furnishes a stable DC bus for servo amplifiers, I/O modules, and other motion-control loads. By rectifying and filtering the incoming mains supply, the unit provides power that allows downstream drives to maintain fast current loops without requiring a separate front-end converter for each axis. This centralized arrangement also reduces the number of power-conversion components required within a multi-axis control panel.
The supply accepts a utility feed of 120 VAC at 60 Hz and is wired for single-phase service. Under maximum-load conditions, it draws up to 9 A through the line connection. After conversion, the power stage produces a regulated bus of 75 VDC and provides a continuous output of 10 A, making it suitable for mid-power servo channels. The no-load terminal voltage is 77 VDC, and a 3.9 kΩ bleeder resistor discharges the filter capacitors after input power is removed. Ripple is limited to 2% of the DC value at full load, helping connected drives receive consistent voltage during acceleration and regenerative operation.
Total output capability reaches 750 W, and the isolation barrier withstands 4 kV to keep control electronics electrically separated from the mains. The filter bank has a storage capacitance of 20,000 µF, which helps absorb regenerative surges and supports the DC bus during rapid load changes. The chassis has a footprint of 7.0 × 11.5 in and weighs 18.0 lb, allowing installation on a standard panel plate beside compatible amplifiers. A 15 A magnetic circuit breaker provides branch protection by disconnecting the input when excessive current is present. The bleeder resistor also reduces retained voltage after shutdown, limiting the time that the internal bus remains energized.
